The Scout Section is for all young people aged between 10½ and 14, no matter what your gender, faith, or whether you have any disabilities. A young person can come in to the Troop at 10 and may stay until they are 14 years old.

Our Scouts meet at 7.00pm – 9.00pm on Tuesday Nights. Scouts is run by Nick Hirst and is regularly supported by Tom Gibson, Hugh Gibson, Toby Davies, Rachel & Fiona Morrison.

What do Scouts do? What badges can they get?

Scouts is largely based upon outdoor activities- “Everyday adventure”. Our scouts have many camps each year. They have a number of Challenge Awards and Activity Badges including the prestigious Chief Scouts Gold Award.

Being outdoors is important and taking part in both the traditional Scouting skills, such as camping, survival and cooking as well as the wide range of adventurous activities from from abseiling to yachting, form an important part of the activities. Scouting is about being with friends, as part of a team, participating fully in the adventure and opportunities of life. The leaders try to provide a balanced programme that covers these “fundamental values” of Scouting.
