Contact Us to find out when you can join Cubs!

Cubs are aged between 8 & 10 1/2 & make up the second section of the scouting family, between Beavers & Scouts.

Cubs meet on Wednesday evening from 6.15pm until 7.45pm at the scout hut. There are loads of fun things that you can do as a Cub Scout. You will get a chance to try lots of different activities & games & make new friends. Sometimes you will be able to go camping with the rest of your Pack. This will mean you sleeping in a tent and doing loads of outdoor activities.

There are a range of badges available which Cub Scouts can wear on their uniforms to show everyone how well they’re doing. To see what the Cub Uniform looks like take a look here.

A Pack of Cub Scouts is organised into Sixes, with each Six named after a colour, and a Sixer and a Seconder in charge. Cubs is based on the Jungle Book, written by Rudyard Kipling & tells the story of how a young boy called Mowgli becomes a member of the wolf pack & of the adventures he had in the jungle. In the story, the wolf cubs had a very good & kind leader called Akela.

In the Cub Scout pack, the leader in charge is called Akela after the wolf leader, & the others leaders will often take the names of other characters in the book. The leader in charge at Christleton Cub Pack is Emily Taker (Akela). There is also a host of assistant leaders – Jess Taker, Hugh Gibson and Tom Gibson.
